Our attorneys have the experience and sensitivity required to effectively plan and administer estates. We prepare wills and revocable living trusts. If you have minor children, we make provision for the naming of guardians and trustees for them, incorporating specific terms for future distributions to them once they are no longer minors. We also prepare Durable Powers of Attorney, which make provision for your needs in the event you are temporarily or permanently incapable of handling your own affairs.

The Health Care Powers of Attorney that we prepare also have health care management provisions which allow you to name a surrogate to make important health-related decisions on your behalf in the event you are not able to do so.  Among other things, the Powers of Attorney avoid court-supervised guardianship proceedings, which are extremely burdensome and expensive. We also prepare Living Wills or Advance Directives, which state that in the event you have a terminal condition and there is no medical probability of recovery, you want your health care surrogate to withhold life- prolonging procedures.

Probate

Miller and Ponn provides clients with a variety of services related to matters that arise upon the death of a loved one.  We represent personal representatives (executors) and assist them in carrying out their legal responsibilities for the estate.
